Dance to Empower is a student-led organization with 20+ chapters across 12 states and 5 countries and counting. We believe in the collective power of small actions to bridge the educational gap in the arts. DTE aims to break down barriers and create a space where each individual can explore their creativity, build confidence, and find a sense of belonging. Dance should not be limited by socioeconomic or cultural boundaries; rather, it should be an inclusive medium that celebrates all backgrounds and abilities, offering young people a pathway for personal growth, emotional resilience, and community connection.

We first came together in March 2022. DTE is the largest dance empowerment NGO in Connecticut, with 2000+ connections and dozens of resources for our students.

 

We've grown from the beginning, and tell the stories of those who have been empowered by dance. DTE has implemented its programs through impacting the lives of 750+ children in schools across the U.S and globally. We unite through gaining confidence through dance, and we celebrate our creativity. Our platform provides youth with many ways of getting involved: participating in art activism, written publication, public speaking, and teaching in classrooms.
